James Schlett
Business Development Writer
James is a Business Development Writer with Tully Rinckey PLLC. He supports the firm’s marketing efforts by writing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), practice area descriptions, ad copy, presentations, marketing pitches and client presentations.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, James was the administrator of the New York State Senate Select Committee on Budget and Tax Reform. He has also worked as a business reporter for the Schenectady Daily Gazette, where he won the “Distinguished Feature Writing” award from the New York Newspaper Publishers Association. He also took first place in the “Business/Finance Story” category at the New York State Associated Press Association’s annual writing contest. His other journalistic experiences include reporting for newspapers in northern New York and southern Rhode Island.
A native of northern New Jersey and a current resident of Albany, N.Y., James graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism. He has published essays in journals such as The Mid-Atlantic Almanack and Songs of Innocence. In his spare time, James enjoys reading and writing poetry, visiting art museums and hiking in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts.
